I may be mistaken, but up until now I did not know of any way to embed a spreadsheet in a post other than taking a screenshot image and posting the Jpeg. And if you had a very long spreadsheet, forget that even. It would not fit on your screen for a screenprint.
Well, Google Docs has changed that! They have added some advanced features to their awesome FREE site that rock! One of the new features allows you to embed all or part of a spreadsheet on your blog!
The spreadsheet below was created in Google Docs. I then generated an embed code for only this portion and stuck the code in here. Pretty neat, eh? Disclaimer - I made the numbers up. They're for illustrative purposes only!
And you can embed so that if you change the figures in the spreadsheet, the figures will change wherever you've embedded. I can think of a few good uses for that. Like a spreadsheet that shows present inventory numbers. It would be kept current everywhere just by your keeping the Google document current. But if you want the data to stay put, like a snapshot in time, it can do that too! There are many options.
Just thought you might find this useful.

Jennifer - Google does rock, doesn't it? And they keep providing free stuff. Will it ever end? I hope not!
Joanne - so glad I could help! I had to do a long spreadsheet a few weeks back and it was awful! This is easy.
I hate to admit it Maggie, but I was so excited about this I had to try it out immediately! I posted my stats in my own blog to see how it worked. Thanks for the tip!!

Hey Maggie - we had a great time in Cape Coral Friday and yesterday, and I really was hoping to get to meet you. There'll be another time, hopefully.
We stayed with Mary and John, and got to meet Laurie Manny, Chris Griffith and Marc Blasi, and I got to see Sharon Simms again, and to meet her beautiful daughter Tami. We had a very nice time yesterday at lunch.
I'll just have to keep visiting you in your posts until we get to meet in person!!
Ann
Maggie - I have wanted to know how to do this - thanks!!! Hopefully I can figure it out from here - otherwise I may be back :-)
Anyone know how to build tables now?
Ann - I was so disappointed that I was not able to go and meet everyone. I was actually very close by at a college open house but had to leave for Miami at 1. The kid had something happening over here at 3 and I was the chauffeur =) I do hope that the next time my schedule will allow it! I'll keep visiting your blog as well =)
Cyndee - I think Mariana Wagner did a post a long time ago about tables. I'm no good with those. But her directions were stellar! If you need help with this one let me know. I've got it figured out for the most part =)
That seems great! Can you embed this in any blog, including AR?
