Maggie, we were in Miami and Naples in Jan. I saw ice patches on the tarmac at the Fort Myers airport. The best thing we saw in Naples as we drove in was a sign on an establishment stating : Global Warming my ___,with an alligator with his mouth wide open. It gave us a good laugh.
Maggie's, it's been a brutal winter all over. We broke a record that was in place since 1898 for the most snow fall.
Ron & Alexandra, that sign sounds like a keeper. =)
Craig, I know. I feel terrible for the Northeners and feel silly griping about the 40's. But I moved down here for the weather, dagnabit! lol It's a minor nuiscance for me, I know it's been much more than that for those being pelted with freezing temeratures and blizzards that don't quit.
Maggie - well the snowbirds must not be very pleased. Stay warm!
Jeff
WOW... I was on here early this morning or yesterday and the temperature was 48 degrees and I was wondering how common that was in Miami.
Yikes Maggie, so how cold was it?
Jeff, I am certain this has hurt the travel industry, although I don't know the stats. It's really hurt the farmers, though. I see a lot of blighted plants around.
Maureen, it's 48 degrees again right now according to my little weather badge. This winter has been the first winter that we've used the heat setting in the a/c unit more than once. In the past a cold snap might make me turn it on one day. This winter we've had it on at least a dozen times.
Lynda, it's been in the 40's in the mornings. It will go up during the day but even so, I am not pleased. lol I gave away most of my winter clothes when I left NYC.
Ha ha...but it could be.
Wow, that is cold for Miami, do you all have coats?
Well no worries it will melt, and at least your sun is shinning. We were in mid 40's yesterday and all I had on was a turtle neck and sweater.
It was wonderful.
I think someone forgot to tell people in Miami that we are in a global warming crisis. . .
Missy, that's funny. To you, the 40's is pleasant. To me, not so much. I've acclimated. =)
Fernando, I wish the cold fronts would get the news flash!
